I've heard some of my friends call them b17's golden motors because they used to put them blocks through hell and they would take it. The only reason you would need a type-r block is for bragging rights. If you want it then that's your call. I have a type-r motor swap and I wish I wouldn't have spent that much money. I should have gotten a gs-r and went from there.just my .02¢

i feel you on the type r pricing though..... that's crazy what people are spending for those swaps and to think pricing has gone down on them lol
