A little charity goes a long way. Help this family of 7.

A friend of mine came across a family of 7 living in a van. Please donate if you can. Heres the story.

Went to meet a family of 7 living in their mini van today. Oh how I wish I had an empty house or apartment or something, at least to get those kids baths and wash their clothes. Living in a van for 5 months must take a toll. There is not an inch of free space in there. I took them some fruit, tortillas and bottles of water. I have never seen kids so excited for water... saying "finally" and "me, me i want one i want one" Gave them each a hot wheels from our wedding and got a little toy for the 1 year old. My heart hurts... One little boy when I said what can I do to help, the turning four year old said he wants a bed.

"Dear friends please feel free to repost this on your pages too! I am collecting donations for the homeless family of 7 I visited today that live in a van off the 110 fwy. A few of them have caught a cold, the little boy asked me for a bed, they are FILTHY and need showers and they need diapers for the baby. I bought them food and water today but they really need a few days to get cleaned and get healthy in a motel. Please send donation to MIZFISH@aol.com (PLEASE SEND IT AS A GIFT AS IT IS A DONATION SO WE DO NOT PAY FEES"

Heres the progress.

Here is your update for the day. Keep the donations coming and keep sharing this story please! I found a 1 bedroom apartment that will take them, not worrying about a credit check or anything. It is 800/month and 800/deposit. They agreed to help me and I will be bringing 1100 cash today and get the keys. The family has no idea but they are enjoying their 2nd night in the motel. Once I get them... in the apartment I can start collecting goods. I may try to get some goods tonight from some of you so that they are there when they move in. More funds and gift cards are welcomed so I can get electricity and gas going and get them food. Possibly a few blankets, clothes for interviews, diaper, wipes, they all need shoes.... Things are coming together. it takes a village and I know I have the greatest village ever! ♥ You are all angels.

And so today i went and dropped off a mattress, bathroom goods, pillows and some kitchenware. They will be off to a good start but i think we all know how difficult a job can be and i have some concern over them being able to stay there on their own initially. A little bit is a lot. So this is what i have to say to you all.... the kids.

Someone who happend to be moving out of an apartment in the same building donated a queen bed and table. This came at a great time for me as im consolidating a lot of things in my household as well.

Thanks but i will take no credit for any of the effort put into this. That all goes to my old friend who took the initiative to do something and rounded up so much help.

I am glad to hear you are doing better. Hard times must be met with soft hearts.

i don't really have money at this time to help but i might have things that they could use in the house or family that does since my brother just moved to a new house and idk what they are getting rid of. i know how it feels to be down on hard times and any little bit helps a lot. maybe i can get some friends to donate money though

Post this on Reddit, lots of people there love to help people in need. Integra forum? We're a bunch of broke jokes.

Right now we arent looking for too much physical items. She is just trying to get them on their feet and under a roof. They need to be able to sustain themselves. Im reaching out to people im acquainted with because its usually more encouraging coming from someone you know to help. A few bucks from a few people is more than zero. If anything my goal is to help ensure theres a roof over their head next month but as i said they need to be self sustaining.

No fucks given.
Dude, put this story on indiegogo. If you remember that bus monitor that got bullied last month, the campaign for her raised almost $700K, the original goal was 5000....

Not saying they'd get that much, but I'm sure this family would get a nice chunk of change if one was set up for them.

Wow, that's inspiring. It seems people are being nicer and nicer to each other. Anyway to still donate or anything?

Not in it for the karma. At the beginning and the end of the day, i feel the same. Im only glad they have a chance and something could be done to get them on their feet. The difference for me from this story to the next homeless person was that 5 kids were living in a van, all young, one a baby.

Thanks oreoboi my friend told me someone from the integra club donated. :thumbs up

Covert, the best thing to do is donate to the paypal listed in the op.
