Last week when I was driving to work I was about 100yrds away from the parking lot going 20mph. Next thing you know I'm blowing smoke out the exhaust like the bitch it on fire. I could smell the oil just burning. Checked the oil (only had about 50 miles on it) and it was clean as a whistle. My buddy went to my house to do a compression and leakdown test today while im in Memphis and it's not holding in the #2 cylinder. I'm not capable nor feel comfortable trying to rebuild this motor. Nor am I going to pay someone to do it. I already found another LS with trans with a bunch of new stuff for$1000. It has 120000 miles on it but that's less than I have now 147k miles. Main reason I want to buy it is because I want to do the trans swap and the only things I will need to get is the clutch pedal, slave cylinder and clutch cylinder. The guy has everything else with the deal. I'll see what happens in the next couple days. If I pass all my test I'll get a 15% pay raise so I'll have a few extra dollars to throw around.

No fucks given.
Agh, I guess I should have made myself more clear,

I found a LS MOTOR and manuel trans for $1000. Lol
I caught what you meant by it :thumbs up. I need to do the exact same thing and find a cheap Integra (possibly rear-ended) and swap the engine in. I'm keeping the slushbox though lol.

A bit of relief today!!
When my buddy did the compression test while I was gone. He found the #2 wasn't holding compression. Well it's been running fine and only smoking at high rpm's when hot. Today I got a different compression tester and re-tested it. 170 185 185 180 is what it ended up testing at. I'm guessing my friends tester is junk because I did each cylinder twice for good measures and it they all tested fine. Still can't figure out why it smokes at high rpm's... Going to replace the pcv valve tomorrow. I have a slight suspension it's sticking open and that's why im getting blow by.

yesterday i removed the delete plate off the iavc and bought a new pcv valve. no more smoking! i ran the balls off of her to try and get it to smoke but it didnt.

so it smoked on high revs? mine does that also, only in vtec. and it just was swapping in a new pvc valve?

It wasn't at just high revs. It was mostly when I have been driving it for 20-30 minutes and it was warm. It would blow clouds of smoke. And the fact I wasn't running a pcv after swapping the intake. The delete plate on the iacv canceled out the crazy idle. When I first put the pcv valve on it wouldn't stay running. I had a hunch to take the delete plate off the iacv and it ran fine after that. Idles at 750 now when warm.

ok, thanks i'll try it. was a afraid i had to replace my valve seals
Be a good idea to do a compression check just incase! I almost bought a different motor because I thought I had bad rings. a buddy did a compression check with a 10+ year old tester that quit working as he was using it so it was showing no compression at all. Lucily I rented one myself and checked it. And if you change your pcv valve it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace you vacuum lines going to and from. They could be gunked up a bit if the current pcv is bad. :thumbs up

So I've been thinking...
Gold? (same as VC)
OR
Midnight black w/gold flake? (same as IM)
Powder coat choices for my rims...

Body work has to wait until late September/early October so I'm just going to do this to get it off my mind.
