Hey everyone, Ive been on this website for a couple months reading threads and Ive decided to introduce my car. I bought my car a couple months ago but just got my license in the beginning of May. Its a 97 DB7 5Spd. with 211,XXX miles. I got the car for $1200, it needed a new clutch and cv axle and I replaced the front shock/struts. Its pretty much stock besides a strut bar and flowmaster exhaust. Well ill stop talking and get to the pics haha.

If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know. Id like to do a build by next summer still deciding if i should do a GSR swap or just buy an LS block and build it up. I am open to learn anything you guys can tell me thanks.

I hope this isnt a really dumb question but i wanted to know if i could replace the intervals in this engine with aftermarket parts or is it not worth it because the high miles...any info is highly appreciated thanks.

Looks good, and the internals isnt worth it. If you're spending that much money on the LS motor go with boost and arp headstuds

Alright thanks, I think ill just keep the engine the way it is and see how long she will run. Im not sure if you have done any builds or not but what do you think would be wiser in my situation. Im in high-school and have a job so money is slowly building up. Should i try to get an ls block with low miles and build that up or get a GSR block and do the same. Thanks again.

Just do basic bolt ons for now, Intake, header, exhaust. There are many to choose from so go do your search. Start there, and see what happens

yeah i was planning on doing all that. Also i forgot to mention that my car has a GSR tranny. Have any of you had the b18b1 engine with this tranny? Thats why i am kind of leaning towards the full GSR swap since ive already got the transmission. :D

My friend had a b18b with itr tranny, i dont know the exact differences off the top of my head other than the final drive, but it was shorttttt. That must be fun driving.

f*** that 211k and your asking if its worth it? yes! rebuild that b**** swap that tranny slap a vtec head on that b**** bore the block get forged piston swap internals, valves n s*** its gonna cost a lot but the feeling of you doing it yourself pays off.. you should know these engines last forever
So your saying I should build this engine even though the high miles? And are you saying I should swap the tranny back to the stock ls? I definitely want to do a build but I've herd slapping a vtec head on the ls block (lsvtec) can be really easy to mess up on and you need to build it very carefully. That's just what I have herd.
