My name is Nick, been modifying hondas for quite some time now, and this is my last "build"
all the work has been done here in my garage, everything, frame, paint, body, engine, EVERrryyTHING!

bought the car three and a half years ago...

looked like this...

she was a little rough...lol

but its not everyday that you find an original rhd 96 spec R

after sometime I was finally financially stable enough to start working on it...

and this is what I have today, still more work to come but slowly, after all my daughter and wife come first...

full build thread is at another site, I am not sure if I am allowed to post links but I can transfer the info if you guys are interested... comments welcome!

Wow! Does it have an engine in it yet? What more do you have to do it? Is it all OEM ITR parts?
yes, she is all ITR

98 halfcut was used to repair the front and then stitch welded for a stronger rigidity over the whole chassis...

engine also from a 98 ITR and yes its installed but hasn't been cranked due to a bad fuel tank...

the beginnng/intro of the thread

Excuse the amount of pictures, but I have this build going on in another website and just decided to share it here as well, and feel free to comment good and bad....enjoy!

Money is short, times are hard, but this is my dream car dammit!!!
So even if this just might be my last build, it must take place, and what better place to share the progress than here!!!

Oh, and thanks Ryan, Memo, Guy, Dom, my body man Jesus and my brother Mike, without you boys this project would still be in the backburner, and Dom, I'm glad she went to a good home!

First off, a little backround about the person behind the car.

My name is Nicholas Floria, aka Nick, aka tenedor sports, aka fork sports, and if you are reading this then I'm pretty we share an addicton for these vehicles. I've been into this for awhile, so let me share with you my automotive history/timeline.

My love for the brand started when I first sat in a brand new ef sir hatchback in 91, my mother had taken her 87 mazda 323 hatch to the dealer, and the dealer had just bought the honda franchise and began putting them on the show room floor. What an awesome memory, anyway we could have never afforded one back then so my love the H badge was put on hold...

First off, my 1991 hyundai excell, a hand me down from my brother, sorry no pics but coming from humble beginnings in a third world country (Panama born and raised and proud of it), this was not too shabby, it was black, slammed on 15 inch momo evolution wheels, which I might add, these wheels were the shizzz back then, before digital cameras and the internet phenomena had caught on.
not actual car but ust to give the idea...

Second car my Mitsubishi Lancer gl, my lust for white cars had caught on and I persuaded my mother to purchase this car in this color. This car lived a very short life.

imagine this car in white, on 17" momo ferrari II lol

these were sooo heavy, lol!
that lancer ended up getting totaled, not by me, although there had been many close calls, comes with being young and dumb...

next car: the elantra, I couldn't afford much then, and this was to be a car bought by me, mom had bought that lancer bran new and when it got totaled Panamenian insurance didn't want to cover it. we needed transportation, and this was it.

you know, for being a cheap car, it was by far the quickest, with its DOHC configured beta engine, it was a hoot to drive, remember both of the previous cars were 1.3 carb engines making hardly any hp.

I decided I needed to do something with my life so I came to see my brother stateside, actually it was more like my mother kicked me out for acting a fool, but what teen doesn't?? lmao!

my first car here

boy I loved this, wish I would have known then what I know now, I sold this car due to a blown headgasket and slushbox trans, I didn't know how to fix any of this then... I want another one!!!

after the toyota was gone, I didn't have much money and looking around the local news paper for weeks I found nothing.

My brother is not one to get excited, but he knew I wanted a honda, so we hopped in the car and showed me something similar to this

needless to say I bought it, when I sat in this car that feeling I had as a kid when I first sat in that brand new 91 ef hatch came back and I knew I was through!!!

damn, I realized I am probably boring you guys with all this history crap, let me move on at a quicker pace before my daughter wakes up lol!

after that my first ej1
looked very similar to this...

then my first eg hatch!

I ended up trading for this:

later on this happened...

moved on

slowly had started silently working on my next hatch

mr2 was also mine back then until my brother finally came to his senses and wanted it back!

people dont know this but this car never had equips...

I wanted a set my brother didnt... but this is the og pic

with the aw11 out of the way and my da close to being sold, I was still working on the eg when I ran into an original owner eg sedan, I always wanted one soooo

if i find another white one, im getting it!!!

around this time frame I was also talking to this guy from alabama about an ITR shell for sale... selma alabama approx. three years ago

the shell had been involved in some kind of front end collision but the everything else of the car was intact, I had more pics of this trip but I cant find them..

tried to transfer images, but its limiting me to 30 per post, its going to take forever for me to transfer everything, can I not post a link?

later on the sedan got hit by a teen, and it got declared a total by insurance so, the white hatch was ready by then

The boosted b developed issues.... under the knife at dj envision's house!
Thank you James for letting me do this at your house!!!

jdm b16 in

a little later wifey decided I had accumulated too many cars

naw just kidding, this was the current stable...

dont ask me how this happened, but my crx then my eg, the now totalled and repaired sedan, and then in the works, my ek sedan in the garage... ****...lol

the eg sedan got sold first, then my hatch... time to focus on my rhd crx

old skool powa

the crx was an ethanol car, needed a daily bad!

and had found out about this!!! :bang:

so bought this

Then ran into a buddy that had his first on the way.... it wouldn't have been too fun driving a baby around in a db2 so we traded...

I loved that db2, and wanted to keep it so bad, up until a good friend of mine made me an offer I couldn't refuse, I saw it as an opportunity to finally start this project.

decided to sell everything

I had searched for places to get the frame work done, and, damn it was crazy...

first it went to this guy out in rincon to get measure and see exactly how much damage, and to see if when repaired it would become a straight body car...

after alot of weeks, it was declared a very repairable car, and was told that buying that halfcut was probably the best investment ever!!

then the most amazing thing happened

jun 8 I was to meet my little girl, Sofia Nicole....

pics self explanatory...
after a month of mommy, daddy, and baby time, it was time to get back on track!

A friend had taken the dc2 to florida, I trusted him and ended up getting screwed..

here is a pic of the car and pieces on their way to fl

after months and months of calling him and no answers, paired with lame excuses..
I was browsing clist and found this...

My good friend memo and I rented a uhual and everything I would need to get this car in my possesion asap!!!

Man, I couldn't believe this guy would do this to me...

finally the car home... anyone want some mountain dew???

:p

I was torn after the whole almost theft incident, after going through all my parts I discovered my itr bumper had been mangled and cut up.... :crook:

after all that mess, My friend Ryan siggested I talk to another buddy, I had completely forgot about the man, I should have talked to him to begin with as he is a certified lexus frame and body repair man....

first day on the job and paired with good information, dismantled the parts we needed off the halfcut...

sold my regas, in hopes of finding a 5 lug replacement... thanks Geoff!!!

playing with color ideas...

jesus cuting down the mangled metal...

:bang:

stitch weldings removed

area cleaned up and prepped
