WTF is this noise?

my car keeps making this weird ass noise sometimes and idk what it is, some of my friends said it's a rod knock & the others said i just need a valve adjustment, i'm hoping it's the valves but i heard it's pretty hard to do the valve adjustments on the B20z so a lot of mechanics over charge & shit.

DID YOU OPEN YOUR HOOD AND LOOK TO SEE IF YOU CAN SEE ANYTHING? If not probably a belt, maybe timing. Does your engine shake hard? Are your RPM's hunting? ( going up and down ) You said the car stops? OR the Noise? If its the noise, I would say its a belt.

yeah i did, i thought something was hitting against something but me & my homie couldn't see nothing.....my engine is coo the only time the RPM go up & down a little bit is when i start it in the morning, but the car never stopped on me the noise comes & goes

best bet is to open the valve cover after its been sitting overnight and check the valve lash
