car still won't start

just put a main relay in my car but still wont start the check engine light dont turn off need help asap

well it dont start it has a new fuel pump just cranks my buddy had put another comp and the engine light clicked off but days later same thing didnt start so they told me it was the main relay so i put that and it still dont start and engine light stays on man if u can help i would appreciate it anybody

When you turn the ignition switch from "off" to "run" (not to "crank") do you hear the fuel pump spin up for a few seconds?

Have you checked for spark?

Have you pulled codes?

It sounds like it could be a bad distributor among other things, I would check for spark and get the codes to .

i agree... if u have a new fuel pump, i would check the distributor next... its pretty easy to take off, only 3 bolts, if i remember correctly, check for corrosion on the tips of the little metal things on the cap, also the ignition coil is in the distributor and u can have it checked for free at autozone, make sure the spark plug wires connect to the correct slots in the distributor 2

assuming ur talking about me... i know just a little bit, ive always liked cars (dad was a mechanic) so i plan on going to school to become an auto tech in the near future :) anyways, keep us posted, let me know what it ends up being

Hey nymph235 I got my car up and running my buddy came from out of town and we put a Lil starting fluid and he took off the spark plug wire while I was cranking it and he put it close to a ground and it started right away thanx for everything everybody y'all were a big help
