Buying a DC5

This might have been covered before. But I've searched... But I'm still unsure. I KNOW I'm going to buy a DC5, question is what kind. I've settled on the 04. With all due respect to the 05-06 RSX owners, I'm just not too fond of the body changes.

I don't know what the pros and cons on the K20A and K20A3. Should I wait for a type S to hit the market around my area? or go with the 5-speed RSX Base? I just don't know... Will I really feel the 40hp difference?

Type S. The Base is a joke, make sure you get the Type S. Personally, I like the 05-06s more. See if you can get a 8th gen Si LSD trans, they are pretty sweet..

I guess I'll wait for a type S to hit the market. I saw a clean 04 RSX Base, but I'll wait. Haha and keep saving up for the mods. I'll definitely keep the Si trans in mind. I was really, REALLY, digging the Lan Evo IX; but the DC5 is the least expensive of the two and like I said, I love the Teg :)

k20a3 is garbage. you might as well get a base civic. do not even consider an rsx unless it's an s........real talk

if you're going for a first gen type s. make sure the 2nd gear synchro has been addressed

is 16k too much for a 05 Type S? I'm still leaning towards the 04 though. The tail lights and Head lights are sexy.

I thought so... 16 seemed steep to me. But it was in pristine condition. I'll keep holding out haha. I want that 04 Type s.

Honestly 16k is a little high but if it's in PERFECT shape I can understand it. I mean sure, you can pay 8k for a ragged out 150,000 02 Type S but I'd personally spend more and get a really nice car that I will be able to enjoy for a long time. Paying more for a virgin Type S with 50-60,000 miles is a smart decision because you won't have to worry about replacing maintenance parts like you would with a high mile car.

dude they have 05's going for 10-12K with 60-90K miles....unless it's got 20K original miles and it's unmolested i wouldn't even consider it.

They have 2 Type S's on eBay. An 04 with 90k for 12,500 and a 05 with 71k for 14,000. I would expect to pay over 12,000 for a nice one with low miles. After all, they aren't made any more and it's an Acura, so your going to pay more.
Edit: I KBB the value of a 04 Type S. In excellent condition, expect to pay 13,000 for an 04. 16,000 for an 06. That is with 80,000 miles btw, so those prices are reasonable to be honest.
