New Here....Question guys

Hey, I'm new to this site, new to dealing with integras and cars in general. I'm not sure where else to post this so I figured here would be good since I am new to it all. I currently have a 95 Integra 2 door special edition, automatic. I got it kinda as a project so I can learn about cars, my bf knows about cars and is teaching me. I have come to love the body style and the way it drives (I've been driving a Grand Cheerokee, and Hond CRV for past three years). So I have a question to ask y'all for your opinions and suggestions, but I think you need to know a little about the situation, so I am sorry if this gets a little wordy.

The thing is, my car seems to has become more of a project than we thought, and are trying to figure out whats the best move. It has a little over 220,000 miles on it. Transmission will need to be replaced fairly soon (don't need to replace immediately). The seats need to be fixed as the leather is cracked and worn. The trunk floor board that seperates the spare tire from trunk is broken so it leaks a bit. The driver inside door pannel needs to be replaced. The biggest problem I have right now is it rained recently and I have a leak somewhere that has produced puddles in the floor of my car. The whole carpet of my floor is wet and don't think its coming from a window since its just the floor thats wet and not the sides of the car or seats.

So that's whats going on with my car, and my options are to try and buy another integra, I really like the 3rd gens....but there are some 2nd gens that are in great shape. Do they run nice like the 3rd gens? Also I have a daughter, so I have to make sure that the back will accomidate her car seat. But if I don't buy a new integra I just have to try and figure out where the leak is coming from and find a new engine and trans soon. I do like the idea of getting another 3rd gen and swapping parts out and stuff.

Anyway what do you guys think? My bf may know a lot about cars, but he's not too familiar with the integras....so I figured why not ask a whole forum of people who love them. Thanks in advance guys for any suggestion or opinions you may have on this. And I apologize for any incorrect use of terms or anything like that. Like I said, I'm learning about all this.

Welcome to the club! You came to the right place if you have questions, everyone on here is really knowledgeable about everything.

About your problem, I know integras sometimes have a tendency to leak in the trunk, but haven't heard too many stories about the actual floor mats in the cabin getting wet. My guess is it may be coming from underneath and soaking up into the floor mats. maybe check for holes under the chassis, since the car does have so many miles it could be pretty rusty underneath and that's how the water is getting in.

Also, jump right into the community! everyone on here is really cool (however, since you are a girl be ready for some strange comments, but you did mention you had a bf, so they may be less bold. hahaha). Post pics of your car and tell us what you have planned!

Thanks! Yah as a girl, def used to strange comments. Comes with the territory, lol. But as far as the leak goes, you may be right, I did go over some rough road recently, tried to creep over it. But it may have messed something up. Its a nice day today so I may go out and take a look.

Only have the one pic of the car atm, but wanna lower it a little, put 8k hids in. and do a jdm light conversion as well as put a lip on the front. Maybe eventually paint it. New rims eventually and make the interior black with slight red accent. but thats long term. Short term, get the car running nicely and fix the leak. lol

looks pretty clean! LS meshies FTW! haha I'm suprised more people haven't chimed in about your leaking issue yet...but sounds like a promising future for this teg! good luck! :thumbs up

btw, when you say JDM light conversion, do you mean JDM front end conversion? haha its a lot more than just the lights, you need a bumper, hood, fenders, AND the lights. haha there may be even more than that, but it's a little out of my price range so I havent even looked into it really.

yah i posted the leak elsewhere in the forum and got lots of responses. And yes I do mean a front end conversion. I found the kit on andysautosports. its Duraflex brand and the last one listed....a little out of my price range right now. But something I'd like to save up for

yeah i saw it haha, and I'd love to get a JDM front end. They look SO nice. but I do advise against andyautosports A lot of people on here have ordered from there and I guess their customer service is really crappy..

Also, a FANTASTIC source to get a bunch of aftermarket parts is from a guy on here named Mitch (thenoxus1). He is the owner of Qyick Spool Racing LLC, and I just ordered a set of coilovers last Tuesday and they were here by Friday. Idk if he has any connections for JDM fronts though. But just shoot him a PM if there is anything you need in the mean time

Nother plug for Mitch, aka thenoxus1, aka quick spool racing...he is the only person I buy from, as long as he carries what I'm looking for. I don't even shop.
