thanks! thats what im hoping for, i want to take this project and plan it out completely before I just go buying intake manifolds and injectors. ive owned 5.0 fox bodys in the past and I never finished them the way I had wanted to because I got to caught up with the go fast part of it.

pic of said fox body.

i had always wanted to finish the interior off with 91' lx seats with saleen halo headrests, but sold the car before I got the chance. I always regretted it.

but I will finish this DA for sure. once I get the suspension sorted out, Im sure this will be the funnest car ive ever owned.....it pretty much already is haha!
!
Yeah, I can tell you're on your way. Like a couple of those jobs you pictured reminded me of stuff I did to mine when I got it. Your door panel scrubbing for instance. I've gutted my DA 3-4 times since I've owned it. Door panels, consoles, front and back seats, everything. I take them to my lawn, take any sensitive parts off them and then I destroy them with a bucket of soap, upholstry cleaner, a scrub brush and a waterhose along with the entire exposed carpet mat. You need a wet vac for that though when you take the waterhose in the car lol Then I leave it dismantled until everything drys out, about 5 days and then bam! Amazing interior.

There's really no other way to get it looking and keep it looking almost new afaic. I mean, my car had either throw up or a milkshake spilled under the seat when I first got it . It's been a chore. LOL

wow man that interior is CLEAN!!!! I think im just going to go the route of new carpet, because mine is really trashed by the p.o, and i think a carpet makes almost all the difference mostly because you see so damn much of it!

is that a custom false floor setup in the hatch area?

i think scotchbrite pads are too abrasive and would scratch the plastic, i used soft dish sponges and very soapy dish soap and water. then followed with blue coral interior cleaner, then hit it with some black majic static reducing interior treatment. it worked well, and my interior was a MESSS.

but now its basically my favorite interior haha.

Yeah, my subs are under there.

Your door panel cleaning is pretty awesome. I love seeing other people caring about every little thing in their Tegs. You really should consider drilling your carpet unless by trashed you mean torn and gum and stuff like that. Everything in mine is original, but you should have seen mine when I got it. Worse, it's tan. If you really go to town on it you'd be surprised. I really wish I had "before" pictures of mine to show you.

yea the carpet is done, the drivers side is worn through in a couple of places so I am going to get a new one for sure, i think the carpet really finishes the interior...

170 with free shipping, i know they have them for cheaper but I would really like to have the jute backing, for the plushness and silence.

oh and not red, black for sure

Interior cleaning

for carpet, try this link:
Stock Interiors

As for cleaning the door panels, mine had the cloth covering on the inner panel, and it was always getting grimmy and very hard to clean, so I ripped them out, and was left with the old glue spray all over them. So i cleaned them with Acetone. First I tried all kinds of "other" cleaners: Orange oil, bleach, industrial degreasers, Dawn, various other misc. interior cleaners from Wal-Mart, mineral spirits, even gasoline, NONE OF THEM WORKED. Then I went with Acetone. It cleaned them up in like 2 minutes. Now all I need is Windex & a quick wipe down and I'm done.

As for replacing the carpet, I am seriously considering replacing the carpet with a black vinyl rubber-like cover (with foam padding), and then placing a diamond-tread aluminum panel down as a "floor mat".

As for detailing the interior, I learned a little trick from a friend of mine who built a custom car and entered it into various car shows: USE PLEDGE FURNITURE POLISH. It repels dust, and works great, and is a whole lot cheaper than Armor-All.

so with little time here and there ive been working on doing little projects. i wanted to add a little pattern to the interior, but i didnt want to stray to far from the original color theme. so I got some grey and black zoot suit fabric and started pulling panels.

my plan is to finish the other side and also the rear quarter window trim. then do the headliner in black and the sunroof slide in the pattern fabric.

still waiting for a day off with somewhat warm weather to start tearing into the brakes and suspension.

do you have any pics of the BMW rims on the car
not yet, i am giving the e30 wheels a full polish before i mount tires on them, and its too cold right now to use aircraft stripper so once some warmer weather arrives, i will be posting my polishing progress.
