90-91 trans help

theres probably a thread for this but could not find any, but was wondering what trannys i can use in my 91 db1 ls 5speed

Any b-series transmission can be used on any b-series motor. I prefer the LS transmission, longer gears- better for the highway in my opinion.

I've heard that the clutches might be different for different years?

I believe the 90-91 clutch is different from the 92-93 clutch. And 94+ clutches are different.

However- the clutch bolts to the motor, and you just have to have the correct clutch to match up with the transmission. It's a good idea to buy a new one when the transmission is out anyways.

90-91 has different splines than 92+.

i found a guy with a s1 trans for sale which clutch do i have to get

You need to check the splines. The S1 was available throughout the entire run of the G2 model.
