Interior dash customization??

So my friend has an ej8 that we've been working on a little, and I was trying to find him some cool ideas on what to do with his interior and I came across this ej8.

Now if you look at the pictures of the interior on this civic, it looks like he painted over his door panel and dash, although it doesn't look like it would still have the same feel as the plastic/vinyl dash and door panels. It looks like he might have put something over it or under the paint to give it a hardening.

Does anyone have any idea how he did this? Fiberglass is all I could think of?

Also if anyone has something custom done to their dash or vinyl, then post em up!

Totally agree, it looks pretty riced up to me.. oh well.

In order to make these dashes look nice you have to be able to fibreglass really well, especially to make it all fit.
Good luck with the project if you do it though

Don't customize your the car with those fiberglass stuff. Just keep it simple and clean.
