I have a lsvtec but its running a ls ecu. If you give more the 30% throttle it bogs down and stays at 3K but if you ease into it goes up in the rpms fine. The map and tps are good so I was wondering if the worng ecu would cause this???

This is kinda like asking if only having 3 spark plugs could be the cause of your misfire :). For sure get the right ecu and go from there. Do you even have the wires run for the vtec solenoid?

What else has been done to the engine. Are you obd1 or obd2?

Yeah I have been going over everything . And it looks like the engine harness is obd2 but the car is obd1. its a gsr but no the wires are not hooked up for vtec lol this car is a mess right now. Its going to take sometime to bring her to good life again damn. But she is clean title and only 77K on her and with a jdm itr front sooooo but damn a lot of work a head of me

It's a hacked up pile of crap, does it really matter what it is?

The wrong ecu might cause that, but the vacuum line routing might also cause that. I had that same exact issue when I had two vacuum lines on the throttle body reversed. I swapped them around and it was good to go again.

You can call me a smart ass all you want but you want help with something but you're not being totally clear on what you have. It makes a difference. I was/am asking for a level of clarification. I know I'm new here but crap...grow some skin.

Honest question in hopes of maybe trying to help.

Adios, Cameron

Pretty damn much. And its a gsr CAR with a LSVTEC ENGINE Thats what it is do you get it now??????

Please dont be a smart ass
We're all smart asses. If you want help, you'll have to deal with it. Prozon has a good point, go over the vacuum lines. Also, you may need to get a chipped p28 ecu from phearable.net, but you are going to have to get your harness situation figured out.

To be fair, the trim of the car actually has nothing to do with this situation, so stop being stupid.

He told us he has a LS/VTEC motor, with an LS ECU and LS wiring harness.
It would make no difference if it was in a GSR body or a LS body.
