you put a lip in the front which forces air over the hood which essentially causes the car to suck down at higher speeds

this car and his old car (with a more aggressive wing) is probably the fastest time attack car

And yes you do need a wing at high speeds to keep your back end down when cornering, the canards in the front help you keep the front down while the splitter and rear difuser help air flow move better underneath
