Limited Slip Differential. An LSD is used to alleviate this wheelspin.

A Limited Slip Differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In a car or automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.

lsd helps you get better traction. ever seen 500 hp civics do awesome burnouts and then only get a 13 second timeslip, the reason for that is that the stock system sucks and everybody should get lsd.

Quaife's usually run around $1000 depending on if you know people LOL. Blox makes a copy cat version but the drivers? side axle is very hard to get out. It replaces the differential in your tranny.


Basically think of it like this EXAMPLE: say you have 30% or your power to one tire and 70% to the other, one tire will catch better traction than the other, now if there was a 50/50 split in power it would be a lot more even. That is basically what a differential does.

LSD will make you imagine things...you will see things not seen b4....like each of your tires slipping to provide traction.... hope thats more accurate...
