Wow omg help rpms go out of control!!

I was driving the car in my driveway and al of a sudden my rpms shoot up to 7krpm probly woulda went high but i turned it off right away why is it doing this everytime i start the car now it just shoots up and revs by itself uncontrollably i dont understand why :( please help!

is your throttle body closed?

Check to make sure it isn't stuck.. happened on a friends dad's civic. it would jsut keep bouncing off the revlimiter. little bit of WD-40 on the hindge and she was fine after that. lol

Ive seen this also where the guy put his cool air intake piping on top of his throttle and it would rev to the limiter, he towed it in.

also if this happens to anyone else you gotta look for broken hoses too.
i also had a budy change is air filter on a ford ranger and a peice of his a/c hose insulation fell through the piping and got stick in the throttle bore and his truck would rev up instantly costed him a tow bill and about 5 minutes of my time.
