Won't start when cold

hey all, new here... I searched and couldn't find the answer... OK so here is the question...

Its a 90 Integra rs 4 door automatic. I just got the car and it needed a distributer so I put that on and it worked great after that. However with temperatures below freezing the car won't start. If I plug it in and the coolant is warm the car starts and runs great. Is there a coolant sensor that would have some control over starting the car? and where would said sensor be? Thanks in advance.

I don't know where you live or how cold it gets but in really cold weather you need to plug in a bock heater to your car so the engine will start, if you live in a warmer climate your car might not even have a bock heater but if it does you could plug that in to make it easier starting but first I recommend you get a new battery.
Also....it sounds like you have a weak battery since cold weather will reduce the strength of your battery. The click is the starter solenoid trying to engage the starter but it doesn't have enough power from the battery to make it happen. Time for a new battery

Thanks Hanery, but I never said anything about hearing a click? I live in Canada so I know about plugging in my car as well however this car seems that even around 0 degrees it won't start unless it is plugged in. I also know the battery is strong cause it will crank the stupid thing over and over and over and over when it doesn't want to start lol.

After some help from another forum I have it narrowed down to a sensor with 2 wires under the distributor area. Apparently that sensor sends a signal to the computer about how cold the engine is. After I get some time to play with it I will know for sure. Thanks again though.
