Wiring tweeters

Hey everyone

I have bought two 6.5 Alpine Type S for my front doors. They are not component so the tweeter is in the middle. How do I wire them so they work?

Thanks!

Sounds like a basic coaxial speaker. Just wire it normal and the mid and the tweeter will both work. There's only one set of + and - on the underside, right?

its the Alpine SPS610's. 2-way coaxial speakers. There is + and - on underside, but I do not know how to wire the tweeter. The tweeters I believe are not working with just that connection for the speakers. Should I cut the wires going to factory speaker and solder them to the + - terminals on the speaker?

You should be able to simply hook the wires that were going to the factory speaker in the door to the only inputs that are on your new coaxials. The crossover for your tweeters are downstream of that, so the coax should be getting the full signal. Post pics.

There's no way you should need to cut and solder anything to get the tweets to work, don't do that! Post pics of the underside of these and we'll take a look at them.
Did you buy these new?

The SPS610 I bought new. They are not component so the tweeter is in the middle of the speaker.

its because theyre regular speakers. they wont be distinguishable. i just bought a cheap-o brand set of tweeters and wired those up and mounted them in the oem spot. sounds a bit better.

the speaker will drowned out the tweeter so its kinda hard to hear + its down on the bottom of the door.

I see, well I will deal with it for now and buy some cheap tweeters later.

Thanks for the help guys!
