I'm in California by the way. Thinking about getting the Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust system. It's cat-back.

I would assume since I'm not removing the catalytic converter, it wouldn't have any effect on my emissions results. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. My car passed smog easily before with a complete stock exhaust system.

Can somebody clarify for me? Will smog check places smog a car with a modified exhaust? This specific exhaust system meets the "Under 93DB Law" to keep it street legal.

Tons of people have said they passed with cat back systems. No one can guaratee it for you but it should pass. Those that dont usually have problems in other areas. An operator shouldnt fail you for visual inspection but as you may have read yourself, ive seen people claim both scenarios.

Exhaust doesn't matter; its only related to sound db for legal limit.

Only things that matter is anything before the catalytic converter. So you should pass; given everything else is in working order.

Thanks for the answers. I think I'll be fine then. Just found out the Tanabe Medalion Touring is bolt on so no welding required. Even better. Shouldn't take me more than 15 mins to install/remove.
