Everytime I drive my car and the RPMs go around 3000-3200 my car makes this ratteling noise from under the car. It sounds like a heat shield but when I checked, everything is tight. Any one else have a similar problem? Any help is cool. Thanks

does it sound kind of like a coffee grinder? I had the same problem. turned out to be an exhaust leak right where the header meets the cat. The sound wasnt exactly like what a loose heat shield would sound like, more like a coffee grinder. Then it got worse and it was just obviously a leak. check it out and let us know!

Mine sounded the same way. I checked all the bolts and they were tight but it still made that crappy noise. So I just took all the heatshields off and it quit

last time i heard that noise, i thought it was my clutch, but it was the loose bolts on my exhaust manifold [ header ]. you might wanna check that shield between the pipping and the shift linkage.

Yeah it sounds like you have a lose bolt somewere. Probably dealing with the exhaust. I know that was my problem a long time ago. A bolt came off and I had an exhaust leak. I suggest you raise the car up and check all the bots around the header, cat, exhaust, etc.

It comes from the stock header/heatshield. Happened everytime when I had my stock header. As you get closer to VTEC engagement, you'll hear that sound. To me, if I ever heard a Honda with that rattling sound, I know it has VTEC. I kinda miss it. Now that I have a DC Sports header, I never hear the sound.

Another thing that you can check is your clutch/trans. If it sounds like a stack of change or washers rattling, it could be your T/O bearing. You should here it right around time to shift. idk8)...my suggestion.

^^^ thats the worst case scenario, i was praying that it wasn't the release bearing when i heard the rattling.
