wht do i need to put a b18c1 into a 91 teg? can i use the b18a1 wiring harness? i know i need the obd1 wiring harness, b18c1 ecu, but what else? ideally i would like to use the b18a1 cable trans. is that possible? what else would i need? more specifically what would i need to as far as wiring goes?

ive searched alot, but im still unfamiliar to weather or not i can use the b18a1 cable trans. and as far as wiring goes, i guess ill get the rywire conversion harness. does that cover the vtec oil pressure gauge?

edit:just searched Hondagod666, couldnt find a thing on ci or google

you need the whole motor, a obd1 vtec DOHC ecu, and a obd1 distributor. You can use a obd0 b18a1 harness but you will need a distributor conversion harness. Either way, you will need a ecu conversion harness. You CAN use your cable tranny no problem.

You need the OBD1. Its a 2 wire.
Your OBD0 only has 1 wire.

Your only options for trans are... stock, JDM B16 cable, or USDM GSR cable.
Theres also conversion kits to hydro, but they suck balls. Just stick to those trans.

so i can use my b18a1 cable trans? and i will need an obd1 o2 sensor?

I will strongly recommend you either get yourself a b16/gsr cable transmission, or get your ecu chipped for a lower vtec setting. I just swapped in a gsr motor in mine, kept my ls trans, and kept falling out of vtec. So I got my ecu chipped to lower the vtec point to 5000, and have had 0 issues with it since.

It should come with the OBD1 wiring harness and just plug it in. Or crimp it on if you get a universal OBD1 if the plug comes with your engine / harness which I doubt.
Of course you have to buy the new sensor that is OBD1.

Anyone correct me if Im wrong.

Its a B18C1. Vtec kicks in at 4400 yo. Lol
Your B17A1 kicks in at 5100 I think. With a stock ECU.

Stock P61 map has the crossover point right at 5600rpms.
The Vtec engagement point is set by the ECU, so the fact that it is a C1 does not mean that the crossover will occur at 4400rpms unless he runs an OBD1 P72 ECU with it. A P72 ECU is also the only way he will be able to have the secondary butterflies operational.

Well yeah. Of course I meant a P72 ecu. I was talking Stock vs. Stock here.
I wasnt sure about the B17 engagement. Wiki lies sometimes. I knew it was more than 5k though.

Anyway the LS tranny is much worse on a B16 or B17...
The butterflies help a lot with the torque curve and the little bit of extra torque.

He will be fine with the C1
