I have. It makes a big difference. You can pretty much drop a towel on the hood and have it slide off the front. 8) But it's a pain in the butt to do.

Hi guys, I'm new on the forums, I'm Mkulrey's business partner from Buyhids.com.

So I'm new here but not new to cars, or detailing! LOL

Claybarring can make a HUGE difference, but it IS labor intensive and can take some serious time. I like to use the Meguire's claybar kit that comes with quick detailer spray.

First wash the car very good and allow to dry. Keep the car in a shaded area like a garage or under a tree. Work your way around the car with the claybar and spray doing small sections at a time.

Once I'm done I like to lay a nice thick coat of wax on the car by hand.

Hope that helps!

when do you know youre done on an area with liquid clay bars ie turtle wax ice. I have that and it came with the bar and the liquid clay bar and the clay bar lube. is it until its smooth like the regular clay bars?

Not sure, I've only ever used a real bar with lube or detailer. IMO the bar is the only way to go to get contaminates out of the paint.

ive used the liquid clay bar on my car. it doesnt work as well as the clay bar itself... however using the clay bar too much can damage ur clear coat. i wouldnt do it every time you wash.... maybe a couple times a year

Good point!

I claybar 3x per year.

Once in the spring before the 1st car show. Once around mid summer, and once before the snow flies to get a good waxing done to help protect from salt.

Wax only lasts 3-4 weeks. You should use sealant (which lasts 6-8 weeks) before you apply wax to get more protection.

I just claybar it every time before I detail and wax to get down to a good, fresh, clean surface. No point in putting sealers/wax/polish over contaminates and what else may be left of the old wax
