all depends on your driving style, if you want small gear ratios for good low speed acceleration= B16 trans, for a little better gas mileage on highway cruising at speeds higher than 55, i would say B18C trans and for even bigger gear ratios B18B/A transmission
so what is the different b/t b16, b18c and b18a/b. in turn of horse power and torque which one is better. see the problem is that i going high compresion on my engine...
b16 is more of a horsepower engine with low torque, b18c engines are pretty well balanced with horsepower and torque, with the vtec heads for good horsepower and top end and the slightly bigger than the 1.6 liter block of the b16 they produce more torque. b18a/b and b20 engines are the torque monsters, however lacking the high end horsepower found with the vtec engines of the b16/b18c..thats why some people would consider the ls/b20vtec swap for an all motor application with horsepower and torque, you have the "best of both worlds" or so they say..
