alpine type r, eclipse titaniums, not the alumium ones, JL 10"w6 would be plenty...go for the good ones, its a plus for show and its clean, and u will get the quality. dont settle for the cheap stuff.

I've always sworn by JL, can't go wrong with them. I've tried Cerwin Vega 12's, Oz Audio 12's, and a Kicker 12 inch L7 in my own past cars, I always go back to JL. I'm putting a JL 10W3v2 into my new setup. I wanted to get a 10W6v2 but they don't make them with dual 2 ohm voice coils.
The quality of the amp you have running whichever sub you choose makes a difference too, believe it. Even the best subs you can buy will sound like crap running off a crappy amp.

What JL Audio 12" sub and amp would you recomend for a basic setup in my teg?

I use PPI amps myself. Get a W6 if you have the money, they have longer excursion and will play the low bass better. They handle more power than a W0 or W3 ,too.

its not about the size of the sub... its about the power of the amp!

i've been through a couple systems, selling, trading, and upgrading. IMO you really can't go wrong with JL, its reliable and its worth every penny. i haven't messed with the BASS POUNDING, BLOCK ROCKING SUBS like w7, L7, and Ti... but i know that a good amp will make ANY SUB sound as good as it possibly can. If you want power for a sub, a good mono block amp should do the trick. Personally i have a 500/1 JL amp, and all i have to say is that it made my 2 shity MTX 10's.. which was produce in 1996 or something... was HITTIN HARD... and whats funny is the sub is tore up, the center cone is detached sorta cause the glue came off. now thats some old school subs.

BTW in a hatch any sub will sound loud... cause its a hatch... lol, and us 4drs with the trunks we gotta bump a lil louder to feel/hear the bass.
