i been shopping for a dslr lately and this will be my very first personally owned dslr =] i've played with a few but could never afford to get one til now. i got a few in mind and i been doing alot of reading up on each..

i'll put these in order on how i like them by reading up on them..

3rd: nikon d3000 because i can get one pretty cheap and better than the d40/d60
2nd: nikon D90
1st: canon eos rebel t1i
(each one has a link to reviews)

i have really been wanting either a canon t1i or d90. the only advance of the canon is it's full 1080P Video recording. i also like the d90 because it comes with the 105mm lens compared to the 55mm lens with all the others. i have found a used d3000 for $400 obo while all the others range from $749+ to all the way up to $1000. i'm gonna have to buy one soon and i'm still not sure what to get. i seen some 1080p recording samples on youtube and it looks Great! but i'm still not sure what to get. i'm kinda aiming for the canon t1i or the d90 if i can get all the cash together and find me a good deal. if not then i will probably get a d3000 for now and later upgrade to a canon. i thought about the d5000 too because of it's swivel rotating screen but i heard bad things about it's screen and being low quality and hard to see in sun and blurry. so that's something i probably would end up hating about it. so does anyone have any of these cameras and can maybe point me in the right direction? i like nikons because they have alot of different lenses for then and all that but i'm not too sure about the canon and how good they are compared to nikons and all. i've also heard about the canon t2i but thats a little over $1k and i'm trying to keep it in the $400-$800's price range since my tax refund is getting here soon =] or should i just buy a cheap d3000 and save the rest to paint my integra  and save up for a T2i

I have a Canon but out of the list you have, I would go with the D90. It is awesome in lowlight/high ISO. It also feels better in my hand. Canon has a bunch of lens' also just like Nikon. Both of those are great cameras, so I would just go to a store where they have them and see how each one feels in your hand and see if you like the layout of each.

yeah. imma go to this camera store one of these days. i've felt both at best buy but most of the time their models won't even power. which canon do you have?

I have a D90, and I enjoy it.

Have the grip on it too which makes it feel a lot better to me.
I went the non kit route, bought mine with a 17-50mm Tamron f/2.8.

Why isn't the Canon 50D on that list? That is a great DSLR also.

You can't go wrong with either brands. I used to have a 10D, but I ended up selling it a few years back. Go with your first choice. You'll like the low-light capabilities of the canon dslr if you shoot at night or indoors. GL with your choice.
