where to get a b20z?

does anyone know where i can get a b20z from? i know hmotorsonline sells b20a's but i dont think they sell b20z's. they do give two different prices tho, one for 96-98 and the other from 98-01 i believe. but i just dont know what they are. but anyways. reason i ask is cuz thats wat i have decided as far as a swap goes, this way i can keep my ls tranny for now and then later just get a b16 tranny. i wana be able to keep my exhause and what not too so yeah. anyways, anyone know any other place that have them for a good price?

First, B20a and B20b/z are like apples and oranges.

There is a place that is local to me called "Japan Direct" (www.usedengine.com). I got my B16a from them. A little pricey, but it was worth every penny. No rip off here.

I would also rec. checking out junk yards. Someone has to wreck a CRV every now and then, lol.

Give Hmotors a call. I don't think they update their website too often. I'm pretty sure they have some.

Good question. B20b are typically cheaper,but have a slightly lower compression.

i would go with the b20b...if you get a b16/type r head with type r cams you will prolly make around 180whp and around 140 torque...

ah i've always heard that the b20b was a motor that everyone used. only thing i would hate is tryin to find a b16 or type R head and having them be expensive

my tuner sells type r heads complete for like around 1300 or so i think...thats not that bad considering you get the manifold, dizzy, tb etc... usually a b16 head will go around 700 or so... if you do the b20vtec i would have around 3K for your budget...

yea man like i almost did one with the b20 that i have right now in my car... but what i figured since i got a type r tranny already, for that money i might as well just get a jdm spec type r for like the same amount and be better off...thats my 2 cents anywase
