whats the best rim/tire sizes for circuit track use??

Hi, im trying to figure out which size of rimes to use for circuit racing. rite now i have axis og san 15"X8" with a 25 offset w/ 195/50/r15 tires all around. Is the offset of thses rims too low? or what rims and tires will you recommend for my integra gsr DC2?? thanks!!:roll:

Kind of a broad question because theres no one best. I wouldnt run that wheel set up on the track. Youre better off with a typical 15 or 16 x 7. Worry more about what tire you choose. Standard size will be fine for you.

I suppose you could run a 15x8 if you arent that low meaning you have good clearance for a normal tire on that width of rim. 215 or 225. Running a stretched set up for road racing is no good.

If your gonna track the car it's really not best to have that "hellaflush" look your gonna want a nice wide tire with a stiff sidewall. I have 15x7 and run 215/45/15 and I track about 10 days a year it its does great

I'm running a 205/45-16 on a 16x7 ssr type-c wheel - with the right tires, it's a decent size.
Next year I'll be moving to a 15x8 wheel so I can run either a 225/45 or a 225/50.
Get proper tires. I'm testing out the RE-11 and my girl has RE-01 atm, same size as mine, but she runs a staggered wheel set with an 8 inch wide wheel in the front

Just because theyre 8" wide doesnt mean its that style but given the information here i had the same thought in mind.


Wow i didnt know thadya's spoons are 8 up front.

I run 15x7 rims with 225/45/15 Hankook RS3. I love the tires, but they require a lot of camber because of their softer sidewall. I plan on upgrading to 15x8 rims next year, probably get the 949 gen 3's, or maybe the Enkei PF01's.

Thanks I thout so, and i have noticed all the track integra with a higher off-set..
what about diaimod races wheels? my buddy wants to trade me his diamond wheels for my go san. but im pretty sure they are not good for track since they have more of a off-set then my O.G's.
the diamond rims size is 15X8 with a +12 offset..

Diamond racing wheels are anything but racing wheels, lol. I have a 43 offset. Get something more suitable like an rpf1 or pf01

Commend you for track minded. Spend more time reading and researching. Need more learnings. :thumbs up

Nick remind me to get a closer look at your tires next time. They didnt stand out but i want a close up look at 225's on 7's.


To get technical grimes, they have less of a offset than your og's.

The wear on them from track is horrible because I am lacking on camber. Darin from west end told me I would benefit a lot more from more camber, but since I DD it so much he set it to -1.8f/-1.6r 0 toe for now until I get more competitive and start tracking more. Judging by the wear I am thinking it needs to be closer to -2.5f even -3f next time I go back though lol DD wear be damned. He is the expert though and I trust his judgment. And he is right my DD wear is perfect. Another issue with my track wear was that my pressures were too low. I set them too low due to the expected temps and I over estimated.

Fitment is alright. A little bulge but not an insane amount. Obviously it would be better on 8inch

8" wide wheel is ideal for a 225 tire. Some of the road race guys are actually putting a 225 tire on a 9" wide tire up front. Some stretch is good because it makes the corners square (no buldge). Unfortunately the rear wont fit any more than a 8"/225 without notching the RTA.

I'm waiting for 8" wheels before I go up from a 205, I hate the feeling of sidewall flex like with the Neo Gens

Yeah I have 225 on a 7 or 7.5 wide wheel and I'm going back to a 205 way too much tire for that wheel
