What next?

Okay, i just got my header put on. So far i have a cat back exhaust AEM CAI and a dc sport 4-2-1 header. I was thinking about doing the whole ignition with plugs wires and distritbutor cap. Then after that going to do teh intake manifold and throttle body. Tell me what you think i should do next.

have a plan before you start moddifying your car. Do you plan on going NA or FI? Where do you want your power band to be? what kind of HP do you want?

First, If your going to buy new plugs and wires, go with oem parts, and only do it if your present plugs and wires need changing. Get NGK plugs and the sexy blue NGK wires. Aftermarket plugs and wires do not add horsepower, don't believe the advertisers hyped up claims! Unless you are running a highly boosted engine, we're talking 20+ psi here, MSD ignition systems and other "earthing" systems are a waste of your time and money. Don't believe that hype.
Second, do not even think about replacing your IM or TB until you have upgraded your cams. Replacing your IM and/or TB on a car with only I/H/E will absolutley gut you low end and midrange HP and TQ! Your stock IM will be perfectly fine for even a mild "stage 1" cam upgrade. On another website, I saw with my own eyes dyno proven results of a 98 Integra LS that LOST POWER in his low/mid rpm range when he installed a Skunk2 IM on an engine that ALREADY had I/H/E, aftermarket cams, and hi comp. pistons. He saw gains in his upper rpm's, but the loss of flow velocity he suffered in low/mid rpm's made his car slower overall. So please, don't do it!
For your next mod, I would recommend a high flow catalytic converter. The more miles you have on your car, the more clogged up your oem cat will be, and the more your car will benefit (aka, put out more powah!) from a new one. Another benefit of replacing the cat for many Tegs is that highly irritating "exhaust rattle" that seemingly all Teg are cursed with, does your car do this? My 1995 Integra did it, and even my 1990 Civic has it! It's a 1990's Honda thing, I guess. Anyways, get a 2.25 inch Carsound cat, they're the best brand cat out there. They have the best build quality and last the longest. The cat will be a little over $100 bucks, and another $50 or so for some misc. hardware and to have someone put it on. They don't come with flanges already on them, you can't just take it out of the box and throw it in. You'll need to go to a garage that does welding and have them cut the cat to the proper legnth and then weld on flanges. It doesn't take long or cost much, it's easy stuff for any competent shop to do. I know its not an exciting or sexy mod to do, but when my car had only a CAI and an exhaust, I next installed a header and a high flow cat at the same time, and it took a full half second off my quarter mile time!

Like the homeboy said before me, the ignition is worthless to replace unless you're up in the 250-300HP range. I say you could do a hi-flow cat or some pulleys. I already got my I/M but i'm waiting to get the throttle body, stage 2 cams, and valvetrain all at once. Also, don't forget your suspension. If you don't have much or any suspension, start working on that too. But all in all its your money, so do what you want, but don't ignore advice.

I suppose pulleys may be worthwhile, but personally I don't trust the available aftermarket options out there for pulleys. I'll be sticking with OEM in that area for the forseeable future. I was going to suggest new suspension, but it sounded to me like he was more interested in a HP improving mod. But yeah, a squatted Teg will help improve launches, not to mention making your ride look HOT for the ladies! 8)

Lol ya, but i already got the lowering springs and the camber kit coming in, so i think im doing okay on the suspension, and i was going to buy a hi flow cat, but my local dealer didnt have any in stock...............SOOOOO im just giong to wait on that.
