what are good compression numbers when checking compression

about to check mine due to motor just failing on me last night. its a B20b motor. non vtec. gonna check it tomorrow but dont know what it should read. thanx

gsr is 215+

type r 240+

just take em, ill go compression check the ones at the shop and compare them

That is ok compression. It should be somewhere around 180. So you got about a 20% decrease in compression. If you go any lower than that it will be time for a rebuild, but as for now you are ok.

or rings, mine were 178-183

did one on the type r, put 245 240 245 240

thanx alot. loss of compression will make the car not start right. but then it would start after a few tries
