well my car will be off the road until atleast tomorrow afternoon. but for good reason. as a few might know, this weekend i am installing a few goodies on my car :naughty:
on the list of things are my crower 402's and new valve springs, the rest will remain a secret until the entire turbo project is done. BUT don't get your hopes up yet, the car won't be boosted for several months. i still need to get a few things for it.
gonna be adjusting the valve lash a little bit, they were starting to tick a little bit, so i'm gonna adjust em a bit, to get em to quiet down just a touch lol.
everything has gone through VERY SMOOTHLY, but when i took out the driver side motor mount, i discovered that it was in TERRIBLE shape. when it was on the car, it looked fine, but when i took it out... 3 pieces. the mount has been ordered but it won't be in til monday morning. i know i'm gonna be doing something uber stupid, but i'm gonna be putting the bad mount back in tomorrow afternoon. but the car will only be driven about 3 miles, at speeds in the 25mph range, so i'm not too worried about it. the roads i'll be on were recently repaved blah blah blah, so the ride will be pretty easy.
so i stopped at around 2:30 today because i got tired of messin with it and it was gonna be raining, so i figured i'd quit while i was ahead and call it a day. first thing in the morning, timing covers go back on, power steering gets bolted back up (Keeping it for now, don't have the means or time to go through the process of removing it) valve cover goes back on, then its time to fire up the motor see if everything is gonna be fine. then all the miscellaneous covers etc go back on, then the mount goes back in. and i drive it home (currently at my dad's, i keep all my GOOD tools there) then when the new mount comes in monday morning, i'm gonna get to work on that. then i'll drive it pretty easy for about a full gas tank (around 320 miles)
might drive it slow for about 5-600 miles to make sure everything is staying in order so to speak. that should only be about a week of driving for me, then its off to some WOT runs to feel how much of a difference my "Goodies" made.
i didn't take any pics, i forgot my camera, but tomorrow i'll take some pics of everything. and i will be selling my stock cams on here. i know the cams from 92-93 LS motors were a little more aggressive than 90-91 cams so anyone that wants them, can have them for a decent price. but thats another thread in another forum. on ANOTHER day lol.
can't wait to drive my car again lol.
