Welding AN fitting to VC.

So I'm looking to weld fittings in my VC but I look and look to see what welding process is used and what type of rod/filler and can't get a definite answer. I can't even get a definite answer as to what type of metal it is composed of. Anyone have any knowledge to lend me, also maybe where to get the female fittings. TIA.
