when I turn the wheel of my car (not moving), i hear a distinct "klunk-klunk" sound coming from the passenger side. could that be a busted axle? it's scaring me, and I'm really hesitant in driving the car because of the sound.
axles don't usually make noises at stand still
might be steer rack bucking with rod ends.
best thing to do is jack it up
and since your in cali area. weather is warm you can easily check yourself
My CV sounded like that on my first car. Then it broke. that was bad...
but it did it also when i was moving around corners tho... I don't know about it when its not moving... maybe it could be the steering rack. who knows.
