Weird Radio Issue Help!

I just bought 94 Teg Ls that is completely stock. when i got it the stock radio needed a code. i pulled the radio to find that the serial number sticker was gone. My friends girlfriend still had her stock radio from her 95 Teg gsr so i installed it today and got the code and that works fine. except the power antenna is broken. now the weird thing is that when i turn the radio on to listen to music, the open door dash light comes on. when i turn the radio off the door light goes off. has anyone ever heard of this? if so how do i fix this? any input would help alot! thank you!

i guess so. i thought the door switches were broken or something then i turned the radio and was like hmm?

Sounds like a bad ground. If your radio doesn't have a good ground, it will find one. In other words a ground loop through your dome light circuit.

could that be why my dome lights keep blowing fuses?

ok so i put an aftermarked radio in. now what i found out is that when the dome light is switch to turn on when doors open, the dash light comes on. when u turn the dome light to on or off the dash light goes off. wtf. but this only happens when the radio is on.

Why did you make a new thread? You have a wiring issue somewhere like Suspended said. Go through your wiring and make sure its correct. Make a new radio ground and bolt it to the dash support frame.
