Hi,I have searched this and have came up with sort of what im looking for but not neccesarily the exact thing. I want to know what mods can be done over a weekend that dont require a ridiculous ammount of mechanical experience are tools.

I have a 94 Integra LS.

I want to know what mods most of you have been able to complete in your own garage, driveway, carport etc. that would take a weekend to complete.

I am concerned with engine mods mainly but cool intereior mods are appreciated as well. I recently did the LED gauge swap and the climate control LED swap. Bothe were failry simple.

Can things like Headers, and exhausts be done on your own in your own driveway?

Any advice will help, I love my car and i wanna spend sometime with it so hook a brotha up!http://www.clubintegra.com/board/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

With the right tools and equipment most things can be done in a weekend. What are you trying to do exactly?

Well I mean anything that doesnt require me to have a mechanic or shop do it. I have tools, itook auto shop in high school and took autobody repair corses as well. I know a decent ammount but im not ase certified or anything

Performance mods would be nice. CAI, Headers, etc.

Suspension mods like lower control arms, sway bars, etc.

Interior dress up mods like light changes, and things like swapping for a better armrest.

Any engine components I can chage out on my own with out a shop or mechanic.

I just want suggestions, preferably things you've done yourself.

CAI can be done easily, header will require you to jack up your car. If you can do that, you can do both these mods at home

Suspension mods like lower control arms, sway bars, etc.
These two can also be done at home in your garage. Power tools make it easier, but isn't necessary. Use an extension to provide more leverage on your wrenches you use.

Interior dress up mods like light changes, and things like swapping for a better armrest.
Easily done by yourself, just takes patience

Exhaust and cat can be changed. Intake manifold, throttle body, radiator and fans.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. Most things can be done by yourself without the need of a shop if you know what you're doing.

Very broad question. All depends on skill. I could do a wire tuck in a weekend if I really wanted to. Motor swap, the list goes on... But start with the things that Joe suggested as they can be accomplished pretty easily by anyone with basic hand tools.

cams, springs, retainers.
100k mile maintence: Timing belt, water pump, tensioner.

I've done almost everything to my cars/trucks/tractor myself in my barn or garage.
Granted have an air compressor helps, but a nice breaker bar/cheater pipe combo worked for me for quite some time.

I can't mount tires on wheels or balance them, but I have the mexican shop down the road to do that for a whole $5.

Basically in a weekend you should be able to do any maintenance and fix most issues after you find out whats wrong.

Thanks joe. the radiator was one i was really hoping could be done over the weekend. I wanna replace all the stock parts. It's a 94. damn near 20 year old car. if i can do most upgrades on my own time it wil be around for another 20 years

Has any one experienced any unusual difficulty performing those mods?Or is there a few words of advice when performing a particular mod that you would like to pass on?

Like, I wish someone would have told me how much of a bitch switchin climate controls lights would be.
