water leak in my Acura!!

Hi Everyone, I have a 95 Acura Integra LS. During the last rain, water leaked into the interior in the rear area. It dripped on my rear seat and went on down into the tire storage area. About two inches of water accumulated before I even noticed! I checked the rubber gasket seal around the hatchback area, and my moonroof is sealed tight...no leaks there. Any ideas where the water is coming in??

basically, i like fast!
You say it dripped on the rear seat, are you sure it's dripping from there? If it is, just look above where it's dripping and you'll see where you need to reseal.

Otherwise it's a common problem for the taillight gaskets to leak. Mine did.

Also check the sunroof drain tubes.

The hatch seal wouldn't likely be the case because there are channels, problem is those channels dump out at the tail lights. 9 times out of 10 the water leaks are from tail light gaskets. Very rarely it is the sunroof drain tubes, but that has happened too. I have yet to see a hatch seal leak...except for a car that was rear ended, but thats different.

Sunroof drain tubes are fairly common up here in WA. That and the drain tube for the antenna. We get too much rain, lol.

I like Hondas
1) take out all the interior
2) wait for it to rain
3) see where the leak is coming form

this will give us a much better idea of where it is coming from

Thats a bit extreme justin. It only has a few options, also that much water means its a high flowing source, which means its most likely tail lights or sunroof drains. Sunroof tubes are easy to check just pop back pannels. Tail light gaskets I would just replace.

Lol wait for rain? Never heard of a hose? Or hell even a bucket of water.
