wat kind of headunit should i get?

I have an Alpine CDA-9811. I love that headunit, I highly recommend Alpine headunits, mids, and subs. All of those are in my car.

Sony CDX-M630, hands down. the sony one i have is nice because it has a blackout mode. in other words, the black face will completely blackout. it is nice when u are driving. some cd players are real bright, and at night they reflect on winshield and also can light up the whole interior. u can find it on ebay for like 150, but i dont know about quality i got mine from sony for like 300+. its great, no other cd players impress me. shure they may have better quality/output. but looks wise nothing. but then again im all about the steath look

does your deck have the function that makes the face swing out alittle.....or some ppl call it the tilt...i don't think that headunit still sells..

Ever since I bought my first Alpine in 1995, I've found nothing better. I strayed from Alpine one time and bought an Eclipse deck, but I traded it back to the store I bought it from and got a PPI Art Series A600 amp. It just didn't sound as good as the Alpine. So except for that Eclipse, Alpine is all I've ever owned for 10 years.

btw, except for the ES line, Sony decks are absolute crap (sorry Speedin). I installed the damn things regularly when I did installs for a living, so I know from experience. They're constantly breaking down. Get a Clarion, Pioneer or Kenwood before a Sony. But get an Alpine above all.

I will also recomend Alpine. I've had two Sony headunits in the past and they we're good, but not the best. I just recently got an Alpine MP3 Player and I love it.

Whatever you get, get a MP3 player. You wont regret it.

i admit its not the best quality. but its a good price comprimise and looks good. also i have had no problems with this headunit. mabye the other sony's?? i just dont like the look of the others. if u find me a nice blackout unit like mine with better quality, id get that.

i know Alpine CDA=9811 has teh feature to do the swing mode (tilt) of the face plate while playing, any other decks that do that..

Yeah, lots of Alpine models do that. I have a 7977 in my Teg and a 7893 in my Civic and they both do it.

Or do you mean to ask if there are any other brand of decks that do that?
