If my waste gate has a 7psi spring an I try n run 9psi of boost everything over 7 psi is gonna go straight through the waste gate am I right?

How are you trying to run more boost?

Well I was under the impression that I set the boost with the boost controller . But I was wanting to run 10 psi I thought I could just set an tune it to 10 pounds. But after thinking about it was like that's not right. So idk where to get another spring cause is an egay wg an pretty sure it was a 7 pound spring in it so do you know where I can find a spring? Today was the first time Ive started it with the turbo an exhaust is commingle straight through the wg its not supposed to oped till I hit boost right?

If you have a boost controller you can typically run double the wastegate pressure, sometimes even more dependig on the controller. For instance, I have a 9psi spring, but have put it up to 25-30psi with the boost controller.

But wouldn't your wg just open at 9 lbs an let the extra boost out?

The boost controller goes upstream from the wastegate, so to speak. It will control the boost regardless of what the spring is rated for.
