Vancouver WA, new LS owner with a few questions

Hi I just picked up my LS last month. I took a '95 on trade for my Dakota pickup. I must say I'm really enjoying it so far, fun car.

A few days before I took posession of it the previous owner said the passenger lock and keyless entry were acting up. There are 2 issues.

A. Keyless entry remote does not unlock doors-It has an Avital keyless entry/alarm system installed with #1 (audible) and #2 (silent) buttons. When car is locked, neither 1 nor 2 unlock the car, but they do disarm the alarm. The remote does lock and arm without issue.

B. Passenger side lock switch does not lock doors-The passenger door lock switch unlocks the doors when pushed up, but it does nothing when pushed down.

Is it a coincidence that this happened at the same time or is one causing the other? Where do I start to diagnose the problem? I'm thinking the passenger door switch might fix both issues. I am currently pushing 1 or 2 to disarm and then using the key to unlock the doors.

The other issue is the ABS light. It comes off and on periodically. Sometimes it stays on for a period of time and then stays off. Other times it comes off and on in 30 second to a minute intervals for maybe 10 minutes or so. Most the time it is off. Does not seem to be related to any particular driving maneuvers. All brake fluid levels are good.

Thanks in advance and hope to stick around. I am also a member on some local offroad forums and started my forum participation on a Dakota forum.

as for the switches in the door to lock/unlock, try changing out the switch itself. i got a set of the switches sitting in my garage if you wanna pick em up.

I sold my '03 quad cab dakota...that's what I got the Integra on trade for...so I'm not on the Dakota forums anymore. But my screen name is gotmydodge on dakota-durango.com and dodgetruckworld.com.

I can't post pics right now, but checkout myspace.

My Dakota is pretty sweet. I have some parts for sale too if you have a 5.9L or 4x4.

Where the hell do you work? Looks like fun!

And I hope you got cash and the integra intrade for your truck... Your truck is worth at east 3x what the integra is...

Very nice truck!

Oh and I enjoyed the "guns photoshoot"

Hello and thank you.

Have you ever taken your car out to PIR for a drag night? I'm interested in doing a few runs just to see what she can do.
No I never have, I know plenty of people who do though, my car is bone stock nothing special under the hood.
Its fun to go and watch though

Tried 2 different lock switches and it didn't fix the problem. Anyone familiar with the Avital system?
