Valve Damage and Questions

So the other day I was driving down the road and I heard a sound getting louder and louder coming from my head. I was not sure what it was, so I shut it down and got it towed back to my shop. I figured the timing jumped a tooth, but it would seem that the timing was fine.

From what I can tell I have valve damage. One of my intake valves seems to be.. bent or something? I haven't taken the head off yet so it's hard to say.

So my questions:

1.) How the hell do I have valve damage with 1,100 miles on the engine?

2.) Will a B18A1 head's valve fit a B18B1? I planned to just pull the valve from my old head.

Yes the intake and exhaust valves are the same between the two heads.

It may just be that you need to readjust your valve lash. I dont see any way, unless you sucked up a big rock or rev'ed it to the moon (and you had valve float), to bend a valve.

Well I've revved it high a few times, but I was driving a steady 50mph or so when it started making noise.
Should I take the head off or should I just try adjusting the valve lash?
