Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

When you change the valve cover gasket, is there anything else I need to put? Is there any liquid, sealer, or bond that goes in specific areas/points and how much needs to be applied? What type of sealant also? I want to be sure. I read this one article and it says just change the gasket and thats it. But my knowledge is that certain cars have sealant points.

you might want to use something like RTV to help hold the gasket in when you swap it over, but you don't have to.

Spark plug tube seal gaskets also need to be replaced. They're little doughnut shaped gaskets... Just ask for the "valve cover gasket kit" when you order parts. If you're feeling adventurous you can replace the cam seal gasket too when you have it apart. That usually leaks after a while too.

Wait... What?
no, its pretty routine when the valve cover gasket is changed but you don't have to do it
