Using springs/struts from 95 Civic

Ok I acquired a wrecked 95 Civic with Eibach Groundcontrol Coilovers and am wanting to put them on my DA. I searched and read in a previous post that I would need to change the front fork but otherwise the springs/struts would mount ok.

Here's my question would I be better off pairing the coilovers with my DA struts or would it be easy enough to change out the suspension and use the Civic suspension...

I don't have a spring compressor but a guy I know said he would do them for me but he's a little bit of a drive, that's the main reason I wanted to try and use the struts from the Civic, as long as they aren't a pain to switch over.

Thanks for the help guys

I say just get new shocks too and throw it all on at the same time. You'll blow the stock stuff out pretty quick if you lower it on those GC's

stock shocks on both the Civic and my DA...I'm thinking it would be easier to put the sleeves/coilovers on the DA shocks

edit***they are fairly new shocks

New or not, you will destroy the stock ones quickly if you lower on them AND you will not be getting the full benefit of those GC's.

why would it be easier to put it on the DA shocks?

you'll have to rent or borrow a spring compressor now just to take off the springs on the DA.

regardless i wouldnt even put them on stock shocks even if they're new.

I won't know this until I get the suspension off the Civic today but my first glance under the car after getting it hauled to my house was the shocks are red...so I don't think they are stock. So I think I'll just take off the shocks and the forks and use the Civic parts. My fourth Si wheel will be here Friday so I hope to have it dropped today.

I know I've only got 3 posts so I seem like a n00b but I'm not haha....this is just my first venture in to the Civic/Integra world. Give me an Accord or Prelude and I can do anything. Thanks for all the help guys

the Civic had after market shocks....so I'm using the Civic shocks and front forks, rear mounts up just fine correct

well the springs are on...I guess the Civic shocks were quite a bit larger because I had to set the coilover on the lowest setting possible and there is still about a 1" gap between the tire and fender...guess I might just get a tire with a little bit higher profile than the 195/55s that are on the car.

Only other thing I could think of doing was removing the coilover sleeve and seeing how low that made it, but I'm not sure about that one

oh and using the Civic fork left very little clearance for the axle and control arm

I'll try and get some pics of my car tomorrow after I clean it, thanks again for the help....now onto other things
