Type R spoiler w/ 3rd light

Hey guys I wanted to know if anyone knew where I could find a type r spoiler with the 3rd brake light for a good price. I live in Cali and it's illegal to drive without the 3rd light. I LOVE the look of the type r and I know that true type r spoilers dont have the third light but im happy with a replica.

i took my spoiler off and haven't installed a high-mounted brake light either. you probably won't get a ticket unless the cop knows a lot about the car. the type-r spoiler looks weird with the light, imo.

just mount the rear 3rd brake light rather having it in the wing, authentic ITR wings dont come with LED's and it doesnt look great at all.

if its a must..just find the 3rd brake light and mount it.

Not to be a dick or anything but you must have been misinformed about the third brake light. All it takes to look up the law is a quick Google search or a call to the DMV. Besides ... the third brake light looks really bad.

The only way you can get ticketed here in California is if the third brake light is not working. If it came from the factory, you need to replace the burned out third brake light. If it is an aftermarket third brake light, you can simply remove it. But there is no such law that requires a car to have a third brake light.

So you are perfectly fine removing your wing (even if it has a third brake light) and putting on a type R wing with no third brake light. I have had my type R wing for a long time and been pulled over many many times.

^i don't think it looks bad. i'm actually going to install a high-mounted brake light on the teg if i keep it. it serves a good purpose, imo.

i'm pretty sure i read that all cars manufactured after 1986 with center high-mounted brake lights are required to have one. i'll look it up later.

I had the same thought as you are a while back, and i posted a question here also, now i can't even find that thread but I finally made up my mind that i will go with OEM Type R spoiler and get the 3rd brake light mount inside the rear window. Those cheap abs plastic replica lip, sides, rears and spoiler wont last, if you dont trust me, do your homework and you'll see what i mean. Keep searching on Craigslist, ebay more often and you'll find an OEM one soon.
