ok i i have a 99 gsr with the gsr wing obv. so i ordered a type r wing with no light cause i like that look and i went to bolt it on and the gsr wing has a wider base the type r so it was showing the hole in my trunk for the wire for the light. so i returned it and got a type r wing with a light and i ran into the exact same problem thinner base and shows the holes still. what the hell why are the bases for the gsr wing different than the type r? is it even possible to put a type r wing on a gsr?

it is possible to, but u have to plug or shave the hole for the wires. My gsr has the trunk shaved and i was able to put mine in, and then i mounted a rear brake light in the rear window. real itr wings do not have a brake light on them (as far as i know)

i used the 4 small holes to mount the spoiler....then the hole that is left out i plugged.your car should have the jumper harness in it.....just disconnect the harness.

simple.

i have a 4 gsr and i ran into the same problem its no biggy..... i got the one with the break light on the type r spoiler(replica) and yes the real type r spoilers do not have the break light but i bought mine for 40 bucks cant go wrong.... but i didnt connect the light and as for the holes showing on both sides of the wing on the inner side just cut out a perfect circle using electric tape or whatever color your car is and color it i dont know i did mine with electric tape and you cant tell anything and no water gets in

This is true, they have the 3rd brake light in the hatch glass.

Just get 2 small pieces of color-matched vinyl, cut out circles a hair bigger than the holes and lay them down overtop. Such a small amount of the vinyl pokes out from under the spoiler...you wont even know its there and it will hold up to heat/cold temps.

It's all good. I have the same problem, that's the way it's supposed to be. Just like someone said....get a piece of round white vinyl and cover that hole
