type r and b16 tranny swap

I know people swap these trannys in because of the short gear ratios and the lsd.
My question is these trannys are geared for the motor they come with. So if you were to put a itr tranny with a b18b or a H2B swap does the motor/ecu need to be tuned? Like fuel and vtec engagment? or anything else? or does the different gear ratio of the new tranny not effect that? Hope this makes sense.

You don't have to do anything beyond that, I know so many people who have any there is no issues. Its pretty much the same case, just different gearing. All these transmissions are made to work with B-series motors. Things like your fuel ratio are calculated by your ecu off your rpm range, so it doesn't really matter what trans it is, as long as the ecu reads it correctly with the speed sensor. VTEC engagement is also something set in the ECU, you will just reach it quicker with a shorter geared trans.
