okay so ive had to replace the head gasket. got it all done put back together and everything.

went to start it i knew i probably spun the dizzy and would have to adjust it. so i started it and i needed to. now i go to start it and it sounds like its firing and everything but i can hear it pretty much fire and then its like it losses all compression. could this be the timing or maybe i need to spin the dizzy again?

or maybe the head isnt ground the right way. the guy that had it before me has a wire running from the front radiator supports to the head on top of the rubber washer under the nut. anyways any ideas would help seeing as i need this car it is my daily that i bought and blew the head gasket. need it fixed asap.

First thing, Double Check everything you touched when doing the head gasket replacement. Check for Fuel and Spark and Compression.
Their is a ground wire running to the valve cover to the front radiator support, not sure if your valve cover has a separate bolt hole for it.

Check and make sure you have fuel in the car

Check to make sure you have the distributor in correctly not 180 deg off.

ive done all this buddy of mine said something bout the icm telling the dizzy to fire a diff piston (skips one and goes to the next) i have spun the dizzy twice to make sure that wasnt it. more than likly my fault i was told to unhook the pos and not the neg so the computer reset. and nothing was at tdc i put everything back the exact way i pulled it off so i wouldnt need to put it tdc tho the way im looking at it i might need to.

Looking for my next Teg..
you ar ethinking of the crank position sensor that tells the distributor where to start firing. the distributor only really fits in 1 way.. if you have it off by 180 degrees it may not sit flush with the head so not so easy to screw that up.

did you check mechanical timing while jumping the ecu service connector or just slap it together and go?
