Turbo NON-Vtec or Turbo Vtec??

So the question at hand is: Turbo NON-Vtec, Turbo Vtec, or Turbo Vtec with Vtec killer cams?
Starting off with a 94 Non Vtec teg. Im lookin for 400hp on pump gas and maybe 600hp with race gas.
Thinking that the Vtec head flows better, should I do the Killer cams? Save the bullshit of the swap and keep NON Vtec head?
I just dont want that NASTY wheel spin when Vtec kicks in. Plus I would think its a BITCH to tune/ build a turbo set up for an engine that has two diferent characteristics.(High and low cam lobes)
Help would be nice, Got 6 grand for the motor/turbo build.

well youre definetly right about the tuning part, a lot of vtec+boost engines blow up because of bad tuning.

its not that hard to tune a turbo vtec car if you have a competent tuner. also, ls heads flow like ass, so thats out of the question at that hp level. having vtec killer cams just emilinates the low cam lobe, so if its a dailly, i dont recommend that.

Yeah, most def NOT worried about the DD deal. Im only gonna take it out when I feel like smokin big blocks... or small blocks. But its main purpose is to be a tight lil strip car. Ill probly end up driving it like a DD but FUCK IT!

Get as much in and get as much out!

Lookin for times like my old SB Chevy, ET. 13s.
But with out drinking so much gas.

First off.......a 400whp Integra will be much faster than 13's if it is setup right.

Next, an idea of your budget would be helpful in decision making :thumbs up

dc2GS-R, ya think thats more than enough to get into the 13s?
Got 6 grand for motor and turbo. But as time passes im just getting more money.
Thats 6 G's for motor and turbo only. The rest of the car will come latter.

JDMxDB8, Yeah turbo NON-Vtec sounds good to me too. But I want the flow of that Vtec head, just with out Vtec.

Oh FYI, Like this site WAY BETTER than team-integra.net.
MUCH BETTER!!

If I had $6K i would just buy a seperate block and build it up with forged internals and sleeves, and piece together your own turbo setup based on your needs. Unless you have another car to daily drive that is.

400+hp is gonna require a built bottom end for reliability and insurance. As for what engine to use........

what are you starting with, or what do you have now?

Yep, got a DD already. I REALLY wanna build a B20. In fact I have been lookin for a B20 block for awile now. I plan on building it from block to full running motor. Built a SB chevy no prob. Now I wanna test my skill on hondas.
So yes. I do plan on building a fully built bottom end and my own turbo kit.
Lookin around on B20Vtec.com for help and tips on what I need to start from block and finish with a full running motor. Its gotta be close to the same as a small block chevy I would think.
I just need to know what parts I need.
Allready picked up 2 DOPE honda/acura books on how to build a motor.

IMO, 400HP is more then enough for anything short of a drag car.

what are you starting with? LS or GSR, G3 or G2?

b20's have weak sleeves. unless you are gonna sleeve it, dont bother even startin with it for a boosted project. you are much better off getting a b18c block sleeved and building it. go to www.laskeyracing.com and look into their sleeving services. its a great deal and if you want to do this build right, then sleeving the block is the way to go. even if you stick with your b18b1 block, get it sleeved. choose a bore and buy your pistons, send them in with the block so the clearances will be right.

Yes, I will be sending it out to get Sleeved.
Im lookin for a bore of about 85 to 87 with a 95mm crank.
Is that still gonna be Sleeve-able?

Back to the head part.
So ill run a B16 head.
Stick with Vtec or run on the high Lobes always? (aka, TODA Vtec killer cams)

about 85mm is the biggest bore you can do on the b18 motors, after that the sleeves are too thin. honestly, just stick with stock cams; they work awesome. for that much power, a gsr motor will work a ton better. why the b16 head? the gsr and b16 head flow nearly identical in stock form. get what you can find cheapest. actually, if you are going with a b16, make sure you get a head older than 98. the 98 and up b16 heads have cast shifting and dont flow as well as the older ones. your welcome, i know im awesome.
