Hello,

I am just doing a tune up on a 99 GS I got the cap and old wires out, but the rotor is stuck on pretty good. I do not want to crank on it and damage anything. I just want to ask if there is any bolt or something holding in the rotor in place? I checked the new rotor and there is a whole cut on the side where i bolt could go. I just bee some guideance here. or should i just take a flat head screw driver and pop it off with pressure?

this is the first tune up on this car. It only has 88000 Km. very low so the parts are still OEM from the factory and have never been replaced.

PI check the how to links but it is not working.

Any help would be greatly appericated.

Thanks

The rotor inside the Dist Cap.

I got the cap off. Just three screws hold it. But the rotor is stuck on pretty good. I dont want to crank on it and damage anything else

Their is one screw at the bottom of the rotor opposite side of the metal fitment

what I do is crank the engine until it is facing up. Or you could turn the motor by hand by turning the Crank pully bolt. One you get it facing up it comes right off

BEWARE: That dang rotor screw strips really easy. When it stripped out on me I got the screw out with some needle nose vise grips, just grab the head of the screw with them and turn it out. Oh yeah, I had to chop up that section of the rotor around the screw too, to get at the screw head with the grips. That was a PITA.
