So I now have money spend & I am ready to start working on my car. I want to make it go faster without it being noisy. I also want it to not be so jumpy when I go over bumps on the street. I gave a mechanic that I will be going to so he can do most of the work but I would like advice from all of you. Tell me where I should start.

Research first. Dont just buy something because people said so. Know what the part that you are looking to buy does and understand its true function. You will always be told that you cant go fast without spending a lot of money. To keep it simple, most people just go for basic bolt ons. Intake, header, exhaust. IHE. Ill add that for most cars, especially cars under 2.0l and non vtec models dont gain much from those mods. Even then buying the wrong part will net you nothing. To keep it quiet, stick with a somewhat stock exhaust. Anything other than oem is louder i dont care what people say about how quiet it is.

For suspension dont buy cheap shit and make sure u get shocks too. Price doesnt mean something isnt cheap shit.

Research and take it step by step before you buy.

So for sure I need shocks. When I told the mechanic he asked if I wanted to raise my car back up since it is lowered right now. What is your opinion on having the car lowered or not? I do live in Los Angeles so the streets are not the greatest. Also what would be some good shocks that are not very expensive but not cheap?

Tokico's are good inexpensive replacements. Lowering is up to you. Its mostly for looks on the street but 99% of people lower their car anyway.
