Ok back story

i have a 99 gsr. when i bought the car it was already on its second motor and trans. when i bought the car i purchased another motor in hopes of rebuilding it with some goodies. well origional motor ( to me ) starts burning oil something terrible so i swap in what i thought was a low miles JDM replacement.

When i installed the replacement ( 3rd motor in the car btw) i did the supporting goodies like new water pump thermostat all that kind of stuff. It was ahead of schedule so no goodies just some factory Honda refreshers. never disassembled the motor so no valve seals or rings or anything like that.

now to my current status. Once again my motor is burning oil and to boot its over heating, the over heating is due to some poor choices and can be discussed later.

for those of you who are still reading my question is, What is A ball park number that im looking at to have my motor factory refreshed? My overall goal is an Auto X/ road race car, that i can still daily drive. im not looking for huge power, but reliable and fun. I will be deploying here in a few months and am trying to plan out my budget for the car.

I understand that prices will vary depending on the shop that takes care of the rebuild, im just looking for a ballpark as i stated

Rebuild thar motor or the one you took out with new head gasket Arp head studs and put in new rings.

If your current car is overheating you will warp the head better fix that

machiine work - hot tanked, decked, slight hone, valve seals, and all gaskets, roughly $900 depending on what type of replacements you use. (piston, rod, bearings, rings, etc)

labor - $500'ish
