transmission issues

so i have a 92 ls with a b18b1 swap, i have a ys1 transmission, i was told the car had the b17 gsr transmission and i believe that it does because my gears are extremely short, what my question is, is there any way to know for sure that its the b17gsr trans or the b18b ls trans other than getting in and driving. I do also beleive that it has an lsd. also how much is a full tranny rebuild?

serial number on the transmission is about the only way you can really tell.

Check your revs at freeway speed and report back..

40 roll from second gear the rpms are at about 4800 to 5000
